Tour Description/Daily Itinerary:

Come Celebrate with us on our Newly Redesigned 7th Annual unique tour of the City of Louisville and the commonwealth of Kentucky. It is packed full of Horses, Riverboats, fantastic food, Tours & Entertainment… the best Louisville has to offer.

Day 1 - Arrive Louisville - Belle of Louisville
Arrival in Louisville and be greeted by tour staff at your designated hotel. The evening begins as you board the Belle of Louisville. The Steamer Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark serves as the western anchor of Louisville's award winning Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. With the playing of her calliope, the Belle, now in her 94th year, continues to beckon one and all to join her on a journey back to the time when she carried passengers and goods to ports all along the beautiful Ohio River. Enjoy dinner aboard with big band music for dancing and a special evening with Mark Twain! Comfort Inn & Suites (or similar), Louisville / Kentucky/ (D)

Day 2 - Touring Louisville
Arrive at the “world’s most legendary racetrack” - Churchill Downs -where we will be welcomed by the Churchill Downs Bugler as he is playing the official track “Call to The Post”. We are treated to the “Dawn at the Downs” Breakfast Buffet in The Jockey Club Suites on Millionaires Row as we view world-class thoroughbreds during their early morning workouts. Experience a “behind the scenes” tour of this infamous racetrack ending up down at the track interacting with the jockeys! Next explore the Kentucky Derby Museum capturing the tradition and pageantry of the Derby and view “The Greatest Race,” the Museum’s 360 degree high definition video. Also this morning, ladies and men alike get ready for the Kentucky Derby Best Hat Creation Contest! Next it's onto a guided tour of Louisville's Mega Cavern. This beautiful cavern spans over 4 million square feet of space and is the largest building in the state of Kentucky! After touring and a delicious catered lunch you will be treated to Woodford Reserve Distilleries history on the importance of bourbon to the Commonwealth of Kentucky complete with a special tasting. Enjoy some free time exploring the area or resting for this evening's activities. Next we visit Undulata, one of the finest American Saddlebred Horse farms in the country. It will prove to be a memorable experience as you watch these fine animals go through their workouts. This evening's activities will be a the Claudia Sanders Dinner House, the former home and headquarters of Claudia and Harland Sanders, the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant chain with a "real country Cookin" dinner buffet and entertainment. Comfort Inn & Suites (or similar), Louisville / Kentucky/ (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Museum Day
After Breakfast at the hotel, the “Museum Day” is a walking tour (both museums are within the same block) of Louisville Slugger Museum and the Frazier Historical Arms Museum. Enjoy free time this afternoon at the Horseshoe Casino including lunch while you test Lady Luck! This evening's dinner and entertainment will be at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. Enjoy Hairspray "You Can't Stop the Beat" of this Broadway Musical Comedy! Take a trip back to 1962 with Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with even bigger hair, as she sets out to dance her way onto the popular Cory Collins show. This award-winning musical phenomenon is filled with laughter, romance, and is a joyous tribute to the 60's. The winner of eight 2003 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Comfort Inn & Suites (or similar), Louisville / Kentucky/ (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Return Home
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for home. (B)

Larry Larsen, Owner and CEO of Ed-Ventures

A former mathematics and German teacher, Larry first traveled with his own students in 1974. In 1977 he helped found a European tour company and there was no turning back. Larry has a B.A. in German from Concordia in Moorhead, Minnesota, and a M.A. in German from Mankato State College. He has guided the growth of Ed-Ventures, reaching out to travelers from most of the 50 states who have traveled on 5 continents. The Ed-Ventures team consists of several multi-lingual travel enthusiasts who are experts dedicated to making your trip the experience of a lifetime!  Larry and his team will do it your way – start with a blank sheet of paper, and he’ll help fill in the details!  Be it a student concert tour singing on the steps of the Vatican, a visit with a local pastor exploring the differences of Judaism and Christianity, a wine tasting in France or Italy (or beer tasting in Germany), a family reunion in Norway or a wedding in Costa Rica, Ed-Ventures can help make your visit to any worldwide destination a special and memorable tour.

Larry’s spare time activities include church and community leadership. Larry has been married to his wife, Joanne, for 48 years and has 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
